“Morphed Resonance” syndrome

Before Injection

The job of the medical professional is to say “NO” emphatically to the patient when the patients treatment desires develop into “Morphed Resonance” syndrome.

“Morphed Resonance” syndrome is when a person believes they look terrific with more and more BOTOX, filler or plastic surgery and in fact they have lost their natural beauty essence and morphed into a character of themselves with attributes that have similar features.

Fillers have become the American acceptable addiction but it is just as bad for people as a drug addiction. Surprisingly this disorder occurs more in the 21 – 39 age group than those of older patients. We are so obsessed with looking young that the addiction to the cosmetic manipulation turns the patient into a human plastic version. The skin is hard, immobile. The lips are filled to the point of looking drawn and duck like. Many young Hollywood stars have this affliction and it has actually made them look older not younger.

One long – term effect that this type of augmentation helps on the positive is it helps to maintain the cheek tissue from sliding or drooping when the face is aging. However, when done to an extreme the face becomes oddly misshaped.

After Injection

We have an obligation to not over treat our patients. This means you probably will lose some patients but keep your integrity.
