Over time the effects of aging and the elements begin to show on all faces. The laser is effective in treating wrinkles, blotchiness, age spots, scars from acne and other causes. It can be used on the entire face or specific areas. The characteristics of the skin vary patient to patient, such as, thickness, color and texture which influence the benefit of a laser resurfacing treatment. Benefits include a mild tightening effect on the skin, particularly in the lower eyelid area where the skin often becomes somewhat loose as a result of aging. MicroLaserPeel treats skin conditions associated with aging and an active lifestyle. A patient can see real improvements in just a few days. The treatment has the ability to reverse the aging process and correct skin damage. It is a minimal to full epidermal laser peel that precisely removes the outermost layers of the skin by ablating the outermost layers of the skin.. The procedure is individually tailored to the nature of the problem to be corrected: wrinkles, scars, acne scars, keratoses,or pigmentation problems have been successfully reduced. The MicroLaserPeel is a minimal to full epidermal peel (20-50 microns). Because this procedure goes deeper into the epidermis, it is the perfect step between microdermabrasion and deeper peels. Patient benefits include: less bleeding and bruising than previous laser peels, less swelling with a faster recovery, more accurate result and gives the skin a smoother, healthier vibrancy. The ProFractional improves wrinkles, scars, tone and texture. ProFractional is a quick, comfortable laser procedure with little to no downtime, used for improving the overall appearance of the patient’s skin. The ProFractional laser is similar to previous fractional devices but the patients’ quick healing time and lack of discomfort during treatment sets it apart. Results are quick and recovery time is short which excites the patient. It is minimally ablative, so the technician does not disrupt the skin’s surface. The ProFractional is an ideal choice by itself, or paired with the MicroLaserPeel for even more dramatic result. ProFractional is used mostly for treating wrinkles and fine lines, post-traumatic scars, acne scars, age spots, sun damage, freckles and aging skin. It uses laser energy to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin which are surrounded by areas of healthy, untreated skin. The zones of untreated skin invigorate the body’s natural healing process, and the treated areas stimulate production of new collagen, plumping up the skin and smoothing out the wrinkles, lines, scars, and other irregularities. Suggested treatments vary but a minimum of 4 treatments is needed for younger looking skin, or to improve scars, wrinkles or sun damage. Both procedures take approximately 30 – 60 minutes and at a cost of $350 to $900 per session depending on the treatment and the area treated. The curriculum includes Patient Selection, Patient Care Pre & Post Treatment, Management of Complications and Laser Peel Treatment procedures.
